Work really has got in the way of this experiment at the moment. I've just checked on Yahoo and our splash page now comes out in the rankings for a certain serch phrase. So thats in both MSN and Yahoo SERPs for certain key words

Progress

Well I've been away for a week. Other people have not had time to finish off the new hair accessories site but we have made progress. The new localised MSN search shows our splash page in its results. We still aren't included in the Yahoo or Ask indexes, probably the best way forward for Yahoo would be to pay for inclusion into their own directory which will help.

Another Listing

The new website Hair Accessories & Fashion Jewellery is now listed in the MSN beta search index. Just 9 days after launching the splash page.

More Visits

Usual suspects visiting the new site but still only Google has it listed.

A bit more work has been done on the website, but it lacks any decent content.

Weekend Visits

Over the weekend we have had a number of crawlers visit our new site at
hair accessories and fashion jewellery. This includes Googlebot four times and again this morning. We have also had visits from MSN, Yahoo and Gigablast.

Only Google currently has the new site listed in their index so far. Hopefully the others will add it quite soon.

Googlebot Crawl Again

Once again Googlebot has been to the new site, thats everyday since we launched the splash page. Weve also had a visit from the Nutch crawler which is an open source search engine.

Google is now showing the cache for the 19th January which includes the small amount of content we added.

Yesterday we left the site URL at MSN beta search and Yahoo to try and encourage their spiders over. But it is probably more likely to happen when MSN, Yahoo et al follow links from other sites.

We did try and leave the URL at Gigablast which indexes sites very quickly but unfortunately they don't seem to be including new sites at the moment.

The main priority now is to get the content up asap, but of course paying work does come first!

First Listing

After only two days we have managed to get the new website Fashion Jewellery and Hair Accessories listed in Google. The Google cache holds the version from the very first crawl they did in the early hours of the 19th Jan. Obviously the real work now begins but at least Google now knows the site exists. We now need to give it some proper content and work on getting the site listed else where.

Googlebot made two more visits early this morning :-
